The Swimming Prayer
Wading in the pool, the Sun spreads
the watercolours of dawn.
I tri-part the water that cleanses my skin.
My fingers pen verses on its surface
after birthing unbidden in the night.
As the water whirls in love,
I envision
You dancing in the spiral
carrying me along,
and I carry You in me
all day, my friend.
