Nandini Ganesh, Poetry 2021 Shortlist

In the Mist of Monsoon

Earth resting between the roots
Quiet and uninterrupted,
by consciousness,
Levitates to the sky now.
And brown became the sky.

Gurgling clouds glided
like cotton dipped in an enchanting purple.
some still peek in their summer clothes.

Fluted leaves of tall trees
strummed their instruments gently
against the canvas of the sky.
