Poetry 2018 Longlist, Himani Dua

Loneliness

Lone, when I sit, I’m under some fit
Crazy do I call myself
Crazy the world calls me
A strange fad
Has overpowered me
Sometimes I brood over pastures
Other times I am in barren
My one half sees the world green
And the other half sees it grey queer
Life is beautiful I say
Nay it’s hell all grey, grey and grey
What do I do?
Smile and look up towards the blue
Or weep down with dismay sans happiness and hue.
