Poetry 2014 Longlist, Bindu Saxena

Just Arrived

A tiny card shaped like a shoe – a pretty thing of gold and blue…
The postman dropped it on my mat- there’s something wonderful in that.
For in two little words unrolled –the sweetest story ever told…
Just arrived!
A message buried –but fraught with rapture and relief.
Just arrived upon the earth -through the mystic gates of birth.
One wee girl - a woman to be just arrived mysteriously.
In this world of death and strife – one more mother – one more life …
One more hope of happiness – and one more child for God to bless.
