Two Contests for Indian Canon Project

Hello dear Wordweavers, we have another project that needs your love as much as Wordweavers (or more). So to get you interested we have two contests for the website.

Contest 1: What's The Word?

A list of maximum 10 words that are no longer in use in any Indian language or dialect. It cannot be a word made up by you and you need to cite some sources. The word should not have been used for more than 100 years. It could be a compound word.

The entry should be presented in this manner

Use it in a sentence
Give maximum info about the word in this way:
History of the word, its etymological roots, last used in (any literary work, folk song). You can provide the link to the source or name the book where the word was last used.

Contest 2: Roots

A folk story or legend that is no longer known or is not that popular. You will have to give details on the place in India, the timeline (rough approximation may do in some cases,) historical context, cultural context or repercussions and any other detail that is necessary for the story to be understood.

Maximum 2 entries per person.
Maximum 3000 words
